Hull YFC
Our Volunteers and Mission Partners

We have around 20 volunteers who work alongside us, in different parts of the work, each week. We quite simply couldn't do it without them and wouldn't want to anyway. Below are some of our longest serving partners:

Bev Cooke

Bev comes to Breakfast Club with her two children and sometimes even her grand daughter. She also helps with serving at the Breakfast Club a day each week.
"It's like being part of a family".

Vicki Mitchell

Vicki has been coming to Breakfast Club since 2005 when her oldest boys started coming. She makes sure there is golden brown toast every Wednesday morning.
"I feel like I'm giving something back".

David Beel

David is a member of Boulevard Baptist and he faithfully helps out three times a week.
"Now that I'm retired, it gets me out of bed!".

Joy and Paul Edwards

Joy and Paul volunteer every Tuesday.
"It was something I felt God called me too. I grew up in this area and it's great to come back and help here (Joy)".

Steve Moore

Steve has been volunteering at Breakfast club on a friday morning since 2011. He travels all the way from Leconfield and fits in helping out before work. Father Christmas has also asked him to step in twice at our Christmas parties on his behalf to ensure the children of Boulevard don't miss out.
"Its great to come along and support the HYFC team in the great work that they do".

Donna Allen

Donna is fantastic and helps out with pretty much everything! She makes porridge for the Breakfast Club each friday, helps at the youth clubs, organises the baking for mums on a Tuesday and helps with our summer camps as well as all kinds of other things.
'I like to help because YFC do a lot for my family and lots of families in the area and so I like to give something back'.

Mission Partners -

Chris Hembury

Chris is from Jersey, he is married to Anna and they have two children, Elijah and Kavita. Chris was the Hull YFC team leader from 1997-2015, and with Anna, was pivotal in all the good and hard work done in establishing Hull YFC on the Boulvard. He continued to work as a Youth and Community worker until June 2020. Still living in the community, he continues to work alongside the team although now no longer as a paid staff member but as a Church Mission Society Mission Partner.

Anna Hembury

Anna, like Chris, worked on the HYFC team until 2020 as a Youth and Community Worker. Anna continues to lead our Orts group and along with Chris are the CMS representatives helping us to lead Matt's House; our house of mission.
