Hull YFC
Our Ethos

We believe in living alongside people in areas that are not the most glamorous, safest or most prosperous. We seek to build relationships and make long-term commitments to people in the areas we live and work in. We aim to share the gospel through actions and words.

Our Vision

A flourishing, resourced and resourceful, interdependent community where - out of their relationship with Jesus - people live a more expansive life, full of grace, peace, hope, purpose and love.

The Mission

To invest our lives in under-resourced, marginalised, urban communities, using Jesus’ incarnation as our model. We look to nurture the assets of the community, working together to: address its needs, heal its wounds, pay particular regard to its often ignored young people, and attentively partner in God’s transforming work.

Core Values
  • To be Christ centred
  • Love!
  • To serve and be served
  • To work relationally
  • To live and work holistically
  • To promote justice
  • To live simply

Isaiah 58 : 9b - 12

"If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your noon like the noonday: The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairers of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with dwellings".
